I would bet that most good names are already taken and the fact that all links change to mysplinks.com/fhkashfksdf cuts out the whole Pagerank clientèle. I'd imagine they would quickly stop anyone trying to profit off their name. That's not to say it wouldn't go on, but not like the domain resellers.
