Alan over at 800plumbing.com had been through an abundant amount of SEO service professionals promising him the world and letting him down with their results. Sick of the wasted time and funds, Alan came across obu Web Technologies, Inc.  and laid out exactly what he was looking to achieve out of his search engine optimization efforts.

  1. Achieve top placement for high traffic/market driven keywords
  2. Revise website content to be geared directly to traffic being received with new keywords
  3. Bringing in leads to franchise the vanity phone number 1-800-PLUMBING
  4. To gear his traffic to both aspects of his website being:
    1. Search for plumbers in the area
    2. Marketers seeking out the use of his vanity phone number and plumbing marketing tools.

Obu Web took a look at 800plumbing.com and gave Alan an over view of what needed to be optimized. We needed to do on-site optimization as well as off-site optimization. As it stood, 800plumbing.com was not using unique keywords per page. The keywords 800plumbing.com was previously optimized for were saturated keywords with no driven traffic goals. Additionally the content that was there was very poorly optimized and was very scarce. To be blunt, there was no direct purpose for the user to be on the website as it stood.

We laid all this out to Alan and he agreed to sign up with our services. First things first, we needed to dig deep into his purpose as stated above. Find the right keywords to get him the right types of traffic in the search engines.

Using keyword research tools, we gathered the most popular keywords. Alan partook in the process of selecting the final list of keyword phrases to be used. Not for just the homepage, but for the entire website. Keywords were broken down page by page.

After the keyword list was generated on a per page basis, we got down to Meta tag writing. We made sure each keyword fit appropriately, was easy to read, and also providing a use to the reader.

Once meta tags were approved by Alan and in place, we moved onto the next step which was to tackle the internal navigation, anchor text, and on-page content.

After all was approved, we pushed the site live and watched the ranking soar. After the first 2 weeks, he was being pulled up for various highly competitive keywords. Keep in mind that prior to his seeking out our search engine optimization services; his website was not ranking in any major search engine for any keyword terms of value to his business.

In the approximately 3 months since we started the SEO process, Alan has received large amounts of traffic (as seen below) and his leads are coming in as expected. He plans on signing on 5 more franchise to the 800plumbing.com website this year.

While we are seeing great results and traffic from our efforts, there are a few changes within the website that are being addressed to improve lead conversion. With underlying issues such as navigational structure and lack of search capabilities, optimal leads are not being generated as they could be. We are currently discussing these issues with the client to help him better his plumbing marketing efforts and web conversions.
